**SPECIAL EDITION** Single Malt Welsh Whisky - Tokaji Cask

from £9.00

46% ABV - 70cl (180 of 180)

Maturation: Tokaji Cask.

Distilled: 2019

A clear, deep amber colour to the eye, this whisky immediately fills you with a sweet, warming aroma that envelops all your senses. Truly a whisky you will keep coming back to.

The story behind the acquisition of the Tokaji barrels is quite unique. During the 2010’s, our sister company, Caws Teifi Cheese was graced by an innovative Hungarian cheesemaker, Szabi. During his time at Glynhynod Farm he insisted that Dà Mhìle should mature one of its whiskies in a Tokaji cask. Little did we know how difficult these casks were to get hold of at the time; the vineyards held on to them as if they were gold. After many months of negotiations we found a small, artisan producer willing to let go of some, but, we had to collect them in person. Our master distiller Mike, drove from South West Wales to Hungary to acquire these special barrels. These were no ordinary single use Tokaji barrels, they had been used for over a decade to mature the finest Tokaji and you can really tell when you try this special whisky.

“This is the first release by Dà Mhìle of a Tokaji cask aged whisky and it will undoubtedly be ranked as one of Wales’ best ever whiskies.”

This is a limited edition cask bottling that should not be missed.

Nose
